About our Team

First and foremost, we love wine. Reading about it, talking about it, and most importantly tasting. We consider ourselves fortunate to work in such a pleasurable environment, and strive to share our passion and expertise with our clients, while learning more every day.  This passion imbues all our work, and we are tireless advocates for our client’s enjoyment as well.

Our company was started by Marc Lazar, who realized that wine collecting could be time consuming, logistically difficult and hard work.  Meanwhile,  most mainstream retailers are ill equipped to provide logistical support to their customers. Today, our fulltime staff are available to tackle cellar projects of all sizes.  We enjoy working closely with every client and pride ourselves on prompt, professional and discrete service.

We began the company in St. Louis, and now have clients throughout the country. We travel extensively  and attend the major wine events nationwide. Many of the core services we now provide originated with a request from a single client. Should you need assistance for something not covered on our site, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Marc Lazar, President

Marc incorporated Cellar Advisors in 2003 after working at retail and freelance positions in the wine business for 5 years.  Almost immediately,. Marc was responsible for several high-profile cellar management projects as well as representing clients at most of the major wine auctions.  Today he oversees most cellar inventory projects, supervises our market advisory and represents our clients at auctions.  Marc prepares our cellar appraisals and provides design and risk consulting for clients building, moving or reconfiguring a cellar.  His extensive contact list includes producers, importers, brokers, auctioneers and many of the most prominent collectors in the US.

Aside from wine, Marc enjoys travel and hiking with his fiancée Katherine and the office dog, Dexter.  He is also passionate about  cuisine, aged cigars and vintage guitars.

Lauren Tuffli, Office Manager
email: lauren [at] cellaradvisors.com

Lauren joined  Cellar Advisors in 2005, and has become an invaluable resource to our staff and clients.  In short order she has mastered the unique logistic challenges of transplorting rare wines,  and coordinates our Cellar Management services, where we track and enter client purchases and invoice data.  Lauren can quickly resolve most billing and delivery discrepancies and has a contact list of back office staff at most major wine vendors that make collecting easy and accurate for our customers.

If the office phone goes to voice mail, you can bet that Lauren is at a St. Louis Cardinals game.

Joe Mooney, Project Manager
email: joe [at] cellaradvisors.com

Joe has been a friend of the company for nearly 3 years.  In 2007 he came to us after managing a wine bar and retail shop and has quickly become a favorite contact of our clients.  Joe travels for most cellar inventory and organization projects as well as handling a large percentage of our acquisition and liquidation details.  Joe is also an excellent wine educator and a charming host for client events.

Joe is as knowledgeable about craft beers as he is with wine and acts as the informal music consultant for our team.
